Dr. Shajer Memon, holds a Ph.D. in Optometry

Is an Optometrist, Licensed integrative medicine practitioner, life coach, educator, researcher, author, gold medalist and student.

Her contributions to the field of Optometry are significant and innovative. One of her notable achievements is the development of the Marathi LogMAR chart, a crucial tool designed to accurately assess visual acuity in the Marathi-speaking population. This chart has enhanced the ability of optometrists to provide more precise eye care to this demographic, addressing a previously unmet need.

Additionally, Dr. Memon created the Digital Eye Strain Scoring Index, an important metric for evaluating the impact of prolonged screen use on eye health. This index is instrumental in diagnosing and managing digital eye strain, a growing concern in today’s digital age.

Dr. Memon has mentored numerous research projects. Her expertise and dedication have led her to present at various national and international conferences, where she shares her insights and findings with the global optometry community. As an author, Dr. Memon has penned several publications, further disseminating her research and innovations.

Dr. Shajer is a highly accomplished Optometrist with a gold medal, Doctorate in Optometry, Fellowship in Clinical Optometry and Postgraduate Diploma in Hospital Management. Her educational background is further enriched by courses in communication and public speaking, yoga, diet and nutrition, and alternative medicine for which the license is awarded by Maharashtra Council of Acupuncture.

With over 12 years of experience in the optometry industry, Dr. Shaikh has served as both a visiting and full-time faculty member at various optometry colleges and as a consulting optometrist in hospitals in Mumbai. Her voluntary work includes assisting in cataract surgeries and participating in numerous eye camps and vision screening programs. Dr. Shaikh continues to contribute to the field of optometry with dedication and a commitment to improving eye care through education, research, and clinical practice.
